Physical pain can be a call from the universe asking you to step into your power.
But I know first hand, that isn’t easy…
For years, I struggled to understand how best to care for my Scoliosis.
It became clear quickly that I needed to intimately know my injury if I had any chance of moving beyond a pain filled, joy sucking existence.
Those early days of learning about my body I struggled to get clarity around:
Best practices for daily rehab
Effective strategies for reducing pain flare-ups
How to workout hard + keep my body safe
Becoming empowered to make decisions about my body so that I didn’t feel hopeless and fearful.
Today, 15 years later I’ve mastered those tools. I can’t tell you the confidence it brings me to know exactly how to care for my body.
It’s what drove me to create ways to share this wisdom with you and begin teaching Pilates.
This has been pain’s greatest gift to me. To be able to share these practical techniques and deeper tools with you.
Offering them on a greater scale is something that has been on my heart for years.
But something still held me back from fully carving out the time and space to up-level my business and find more ways to support you…
Then bam! Two great teachers entered into the picture again. Pain + Passion.
First the pain…I threw my back out!
For those of you who know my backstory, you know I haven’t thrown my back out in over a decade!
And for a moment, I thought,
“OMG! Am I really back here again?! I can’t believe this is happening….I’ve made no progress!”
Then all my work and tools paid off. I aligned instantly, and this quote came to mind.
Which reconnected me to my Dynamo. My second lesson.
From that moment, I intrinsically knew that I wasn’t repeating the past. I was in the midst of an up-level.
EUREKA!
When we expand so much mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, our physical bodies need to adjust to match the new vibration.
Our bodies attempt to purge what no longer serves us.
So I began to ask deeper questions :
What is the significance of this timing?
What is my pain trying to draw my attention to?
If contraction is always followed by expansion (much like an exhale follows an inhale) how can I up-level with greater ease?
These questions create space for what we ultimately want + they align us with our new trajectory.
As much as pain sucks, if we have the the tools + space + proper intention, everything changes with ease.
Reflection: Contraction is a natural part of the expansion process.
What can you do now to make preparations to support yourself + reduce shock + upset through the pain, setting yourself up for success?
P.S. FINALLY it’s ready! I’m excited to share a very special invite with you next week.
