You know when you're talking to people and all of a sudden you realize that EVERYONE is pretty much going though the same thing...?
On different levels, but that same theme?
All week I've been hearing this same question surfacing,
"How can I manage my stress better Paige?"
So today I'm sharing a powerful tool called a Mudra and the #1 way I use it to help clients experience pain and stress relief.
But before we dive into that tool, there was a second part to that "themed question" I was talking about above...maybe you've even asked me about this...
"Paige, how can I help my body + nervous system handle and process all the ways stress is popping up..."
Two great questions...
So to answer both, I'd like you to meet one of my longest-term clients, let's call her Lynn.
We had a conversation recently and I asked her about how she was coping with "ALL THE THINGS" with such ease and grace.
She had some pretty sage advice...
She's rocking her program in her 60's so listen up. :)
She's got this down to a T.
Ok so in a nutshell, she shared that she spent her life in a pretty demanding career. And even though she was super successful at work...she opened up about what it TOOK or the COST it took for her to function in this type of environment, well her body kept the score. (Great book btw).
I see that in my own body, and clients like you each week.
We live in a really stress-induced state pretty much all of the time. The news of late, chronic pain issues, work (like my client above)...it all adds up.
When you deal with chronic pain issues, anxiety, painful joints or body aches...your body + nervous system is already in fight or flight. Trying to "deal" with current stress becomes really amplified.
It all becomes just too much to process...
Lynn's advice?
"Your most powerful resource is alignment. Ignoring your feelings and your body for decades and then wondering why you're suffering with anxiety, chronic pain, or surgery...that's your body talking, screaming at you to notice and help her! Intimacy (with self) creates alignment within and IS the difference between feeling like you're lost at sea or able to DANCE in the rain."
Preach powerful Wonder Woman!
But what's cool is that my clients in their 60-70's say the work we do together in my program help them do exactly what Lynn just advised.
Get in touch with the painful parts that need to be released
Rewire old patterns
Be amazed as the damage that the stress has taken on their bodies reduces
They're finally free to show up in their lives more fully...
Some are in the program because they didn't want surgery...some because they had the surgery and now they want to defy the odds and actually live + enjoy a super active life...
FYI, this is possible, I'll share how in a bit...
What's interesting is my clients in their later 30's and 40's are also asking,
"How can I manage this chronic state of stress or ways to cope better now...like today?"
This is exciting because do you see what's happening here?
We're all becoming more aware about this issue...
An issue that really most of us have silently struggled with...pushing the emotions and desires deep down...only to FEEL them again when the next storm rolls in and the pain flares up...
We're finally waking up to the fact that stress isn't something we need to just "deal with" or "get sick" from...
It needs to be accepted as a non-negotiable force in our lives. One that requires healthy boundaries + coping strategies to navigate.
If you start now, you can spend the next years supporting yourself through all the storms instead of having to do that AND repair the years of just "pushing through it all."
What would it look like to know how to really move through life without stress overwhelming you?
How would it change your perspective to know that your mobility issue isn't some kind of sentence?
You can say "Yes!" to more fun and adventures
You can say "No!" to surgery
You can feel healthy + confident and not have to "be careful" when you move, you can really live!
Our bodies are talking to us and telling us what they need. They deserve us to keep the score with them...to balance the stress in our lives with tools that set us up for long-term well being...today AND in the next 10 years.
So whatever decade you're in...if you're working with chronic pain, considering or just had surgery...heck, maybe you're just wanting to get back to playing your favorite sport...
I've got something to support you. Let's jump into this Mudra that I promised to share with you...
And it will help...If you're really looking to take your rehab and results to the next level, check out the PS section at the end for a very special offer.
