This time of year can be a "gray zone."
The general theme is to START FRESH and make a NEW PLAN, but in truth, sometimes we can feel both ready yet stuck at the same time.
We can feel ready to :
Create a successful fitness routine that supports your body
Get killer results without injury
Lean into workouts that your body is craving
A new experience to support your best “state of being”
Yet also feeling heaviness around :
Possible re injury
Questions around "how this would impact other areas of life?"
Resistance to move forward because of what it might cost you to change
Overwhelmed with the blocks around your body, hormones or chronic issues
The old saying “stuck between a rock and a hard place,” comes to mind…but here’s the thing, we’re wired to stay safe.
So many times as a collective, we're (especially as women) told to get “over the blocks or self advocate,”...but this can create a sense of guilt or shame around feeling stuck.
Self advocacy means giving yourself compassion for WHY you feel “stuck.”
Stuck gets a “disempowered” rap, but it’s actually your nervous system doing its job to keep you safe...
It's whispering,
"You're still aligning and we need more time."
And when "stuck" is used as an exploration tool, it can actually save you time.
Because all your desires + wants create a stored energy...and that energy continues to build inside of you until...
You take purposeful + aligned action.
And then BAM!
You hit your target!
And when released the right way, with a plan you trust, you can actually get a lot of results (positive momentum) quickly.
For example, this week I saw a few program clients in the studio and I saw MAJOR changes in their bodies physically, even though they admitted to only doing their workouts over the holidays a few times…
They just leaned into the new routines and change met them there...
But back to the issue, why does “Stuck” feel so heavy or unclear or yes, disempowering sometimes?
Well, in a nutshell the answer is simple.
When there’s FEAR of the unknown (not just confusion around the simple logistics of “what to do")...deeper exploration is needed.
MOST of us also have FEARS that stop us from really going after + getting what we want TODAY!
SO, WHY ARE YOU STUCK?
I need a plan!
I'm terrified to move forward...
Follow this simple, two step process below to discover your stuck point...
STEP #1
Take a moment and list out WHAT YOU want from your body goals.
Now, it's time to address your mindset or deeper emotional goals. Jot down how you’d feel if you could get these results and not have ANY negative “repercussions.”
Re injury is not even an option
Close personal relationships remain peaceful, joyous, and fun
No impact contrary to what you want down the road
Now for the moment of truth…
STEP #2
Write down what you feel it will “cost you." What’s the worst case scenario of starting this journey?
THIS is the part keeping most clients stuck with fear.
They usually are VALID + absolutely normal concerns…
BUT like most fears that come forward in this state of being “stuck,” they aren’t always necessarily true.
So again, here’s where the curiosity, (challenging old limitations or beliefs) and good old fashion exploration comes into play…
You don’t need “inspiration or motivation," you’re wired to know and think and obsess over what you want…it’s intrinsic…
But most of the time, what is needed for my clients is the inspiration to EXPLORE what you want, why you want it, and what you honestly feel is holding you back…
SO, instead of leaving you hanging with a quote or before and after photo…I believe I'll support you more by diving into the psyche of how to get what you REALLY want now…not in 6 months to a year….now…
I’ve got a few super cool stories of clients each showing different “stuck points, fears…” and how they overcame them…I’ll share those over the next few weeks …
But try that question as an exercise today…and let me know how it goes for you. Just leave a comment below.
You've got this!
